Joe's Stroke Recovery
Donation protected
On Friday, April 5, 2024, Joe had suffered a pretty big stroke caused by a blood clot. He lost movement on his left side and struggled with speech. He has made some huge improvements since then. He has regained a lot of his speech, showing some movement in his left leg, and has walked short distances with assistance. Even with the improvements, Joe has a lot of recovery left.
Joe is a credit analyst with Horton. He is also a loadmaster in the United States Air Force (even though if you were to ask him now, he'd say not anymore, making light of the situation.) Joe loves to golf, and is in a league at Majestic Oaks with a group of friends on Wednesday nights.
To know Joe, is to love him. He's a son, a father to three beautiful girls, a brother, an uncle, and a friend. He might have lost some movement but he hasn't lost his sense of humor or tenacity. Joe has been cracking jokes about his condition making everyone in the room laugh. He was even quick to make fun of his dad not knowing that the Wendy's dreamsicle frosty was actually a frosty and not a popsicle.
Joe even had the paramedics chuckling. After they broke into his apartment and asked where to take him, Joe said "Take me to Regions!" Regions loved it so much they gave him a cool new bumper sticker to rep the slogan.
Even though Joe has the potential to become the new face of Regions, it won't be enough to cover the cost of broken doors, medical bills, and living expenses. It's going to take months of rehab and doctors visits, and we want Joe and his family to focus on his recovery and not worry about the financials. Joe's goal is to come back as good as new and beat JB on the golf course.
