Dear “Framily” (friends and family) and hopeful donors of Go Fund Me,
I am a native of San Francisco, CA. I attended k-12 schools within the public school sector. I have established numerous of relationship within the community by way of community based organizations both non-profit and for-profit. My name is Remigio. Many refer to me as “Big Meeg.” I am a single dad, raising a beautiful 8 year old daughter. I can say, my little bundle of joy has made me grow to understand responsibilities on a different level, life’s circumstances and the many challenges it brings. Perseverance is something I have learned to embrace.
I am a current employees with the San Francisco Unified School District. My role is working with youth and giving back to my communities. I am also a liaison working with the school and community based organizations to help bridge the gap with families, communities and school. I just recently finished my first year at a profound middle school. I migrated to that school by request of administration. In doing so, there were incentives that were put into place that would help my family significantly, financially.
Unfortunately due to a series of budget cuts, the monies was not allocated for me to access. This put a great financial strain on me; not to mention is was geographically a farther commute. This created a hardship in terms of taking care of my responsibilities as a single father trying to support my daughter at her school, and maintain my responsibilities at my workplace which has become stressful due to the misfortune of the funds being allocated to me which contributed to the financial hardship we are experiencing.
There were times during the course of the school year, I wasn’t financially able to go to work because I did not have finances to fuel my car, or purchase groceries for lunch for my daughter. Please note, I have to commute from the East Bay. As a result, we stayed home. Thank God for food pantries. We were able to access a few of the food pantries where there were free food give-a-ways. This has helped my family a great deal. For that we are grateful.
With all of the financial cares of life and single parenthood, it has cause me to fall behind in my rent. My landlord has been very understanding and supportive. He has given me time to catch-up with my rent. For that, I am grateful. At this time, I cannot wrap my head around how I am going to do it without your support.
The reason for this letter to you is for me to gain your financial support so my daughter and I will have a place to live. There are many men and women in the world that don’t take care of their responsibility as parents. I have been and will continue to do my very best in supporting my daughter. With your help, they can possible. I am seeking to raise $5500. My family was given a deadline by the end of October 2015 to pay the past due rent, or we will be evicted. Please help us……..
Thank you for taking the time to read and respond to my page. Please note, every amount counts!!!!!!
Sincerely,
Remigio Flood
