Sara has been in the hospital since December 1, 2016. She was admitted to CHI in Grand Island with stomach pain and a fever. Sara's thyoid levels and blood pressure were exteremly high. The doctors found that she was having a thyroid storm. They were unable to bring her thyroid levels down so she was transported via ambulance to the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. 

Sara has been at UNMC since December 3rd. She now has been diagnosed with lupus. Her lupus has been affecting all of her major organs. She has been in the ICU 3 times and on a ventilator twice. Sara receives dialysis treatment a few times a week for her kidneys. Her lungs have filled with fluid a few times during these few weeks and she has coughed up blood. Sara has several blood clots on her brain and one on her arm. She seems to improve for a few days and then has a set back.

Sara was working two jobs to provide for herself but now has not been able to work for the past month. The doctors are not sure when she will be well enough to return to work again.
