Scott Ste. Marie Medical Expenses

On December 13th, Scott Ste. Marie suffered a massive heart attack and subsequent stroke. As of February 27th, his heart is functioning at about 20 percent of that of a healthy 43 year old. Complicating the situation is the damage caused by the stroke. He now has left neglect, meaning his left side is not functioning properly. This includes no use of his left arm and very minimal use of his leg. Plus many other complications that require intense therapy and reeducation.

Scotty has spent over two months in hospitals in Lafayette and New Orleans. He has had several surgeries and there will be at least two more in the next six months. He is home now, but some of the most difficult challenges are just beginning.

To say that life is not what it was for his entire family is an understatement. The strain on finances and time has been and will continue to be tremendous.

This Go Fund Me is intended to help Scotty with many new expenses including home care, equipment, medical bills and therapy.

Though Scotty does have insurance, most of what he is needing is not covered.

Know this: Scotty is a fighter. The fact that he survived both the heart attack and stroke is a testament to his toughness. His strongest desire is to be able to be an active father. He is in incredibly good spirits and is working hard every day to improve his physical and mental situation.

Anything you can spare will be greatly appreciated and all proceeds will go directly to offsetting the expenses associated with Scotty’s medical condition.
