I was diagnosed with a progressive eye disease about 15 years ago.  It started with night vision loss but I now have central and peripheral vision loss as well. I was diagnosed as legally blind about 7 years ago.

It’s difficult to explain what I can still see – most of the little details are gone. I can see words but not read them. I can see that my six year old son has built a masterpiece and my three year old daughter has painted a beautiful portrait … but my eyes can’t make out the specifics.

In January of this year, a dear friend sent us a link to an amazing video of a new technology called eSight.  These are electronic glasses that have the capability of zooming, adding contrast, and much more. (You can learn more about eSight here .)

I recently had the opportunity to try them on personally.  The results were astounding. I could stand 20 feet away from a sign and zoom in to read it. Without eSight, even standing directly underneath it, I would be unable to read it.

My wife was with me when I tried eSight glasses on and I was able to zoom in and see her smiling face. I am looking forward to the day when I can see the faces of my beautiful kids. Having sight would mean being able to actually watch my kids grow up.

But, I need your help to get a pair.  I would be so honored if you would help me raise enough money to purchase eSight. I’m looking forward to seeing all the things I’ve been missing.
