Support Anne Strauch
After many years of health battles this past Saturday, Anne returned back to her daughter’s home (from the hospital), on hospice.
She has had liver disease for years. Within the last 6 months, she has been in and out of the hospital, (to and from Madison), and experiencing terrible symptoms from this awful disease. In the past 2 months, her quality of life has rapidly declined.
With the state of our world and the rapid growing cases of COVID19, hospice is limited staff. Ann’s daughter, Danielle an RN, has taken FMLA to support her mother and provide her with the care needed.
Danielle is also currently working on the steps to get Anne the proper end of life coverage; even needing to hire legal assistance as they sort this all out. Not only are the medical bills rising, but so are other expenses.
Danielle and I chatted Sunday and just like her mom, she won’t just sit back and wait but take action. She talked about how broken our system is and how we need to make a way for there not to be so many hoops to jump through.
Anne has made an impact on so many lives throughout the years. Anne has worked closely with county and school boards, initiation of programs through the Appleton police department, and her countless hours spent as director of Circles - integrating people back into the community after their release from jail/prison through the use of volunteers and several other resources. She has accomplished many amazing things in this, and surrounding communities.
Now, it’s our turn to help her!
