- Hi, my name is Jodi Wickham Gallagher one of my oldest and dearest friends, John Ignace could really use some help. John is a quadriplegic he was in a diving accident over 30 years ago which left him paralyzed and in the need for 24/7 care. John has always lived in his childhood home (which has been renovated for all of Johns special needs) with a community surrounding him that is always there to look out and help in any way they can. It was always both of Johns parent's intentions for John to continue to live in that home for as long as he was able. At that point the house would be sold and divided among the siblings. Both of Johns parents have since passed and John has continued to live there with help from his cousin Mike (who has moved in) a special nurse Barb who is now family, 2 sisters Joan DeFrase and Jill Ignace Frase and many aids. Recently 2 of Johns other sisters (Julie Martel husband Paul Martel, sister Jan Dye and husband Mark Dye) along with other family members have decided that rather than let John continue to live there comfortably in the only home he's ever lived in but, to sell it (contesting the signatures of legal documents) with Johns sister Julie Martel purchasing the home and sending John an eviction notice. John has tried to purchase the home but, every time a offer would be made she would out bid him. She ended up paying well over what the house was worth just to get John out. John couldn't afford to bid any higher you see they also took what money he had. John received a settlement from his insurance company from when he first got into his accident that his parents invested. His parents knew that one day John would need that money and that time had come but, there was no money there. John has been in court over a year fighting to keep what is his only to get defeated time and time again. The legal fees, purchase of a new home and renovations are going to be outrageous. Many of you have reached out wanting to help. My hope is to help John out in his time of need however we can. Please keep John in your prayers and I will continue to update you all. Much Love!!
