Help a little boy with a Will to fight
Donation protected
Only 8 weeks ago, Will O’Byrne was just like any other 11 year old boy. He was playing with his friends, going to school and enjoying time with his family. One night when putting him to bed, his Mum noticed a rash on Will’s body. He had no discomfort and no other symptoms. That night has since changed their lives.
Will was found to have an auto immune disease and was then forced to isolate himself while a bone marrow donor was found. After a session of his regular twice weekly treatment he suffered a catastrophic stroke, followed by another stroke a week later. These strokes were a result of the life threatening health condition that Will is fighting (Aplastic Aneamia).
This bright, beautiful, active and fun-loving little boy has now endured several surgeries and currently lies in an induced coma in the Royal Children’s Hospital. He is in a critical condition and will be forced to remain in the hospital for some time to come.
Will’s parents, Simon and Louise, have stepped aside from their work commitments and are staying in a hotel near the RCH so that they can be by Will’s bedside while he is in critical care, while also trying to care for their daughter Isabella.
A Go Fund Me page has been set up to help ease the financial burden for Simon and Louise so they can concentrate on supporting Will, each other and the family in this tremendously difficult time.
Will has a long and challenging road ahead of him to recovery and any contribution you could make would be greatly appreciated, however large or small.
If you are not in a position to contribute financially they ask that if you are or know of anyone that has O Positive blood type please consider donating blood as there is currently a shortage nationally and Will needs it for his treatment.
Thank you for your consideration
