Help Dexter
Setting my pride aside…
Post Surgery Update: Post Surgery Update: The surgeon just called..it was worse than they ever thought because of how happy dexter was with us. They had to remove a good portion of his small intestine-it was perforated. He has a very very bad infection which he is under watch for- Septic peritonitis leakage. The doc said he will be an open ended patient as for how long he will need to be there for.
The next couple of days are extremely important for his survival. He’s only 5 months old and has such a bright and happy life to live still!
Please…if you have the means to do so-donate to the Dexters GoFundMe page or share it for us. The price keeps steadily increasing.
For those of you who have shared and or donated thank you…thank you from the bottom of my heart! You are all angels.
Update: Dexter has a board certified surgeon coming to do his surgery-which has increased the cost by over 1700 dollars.
Dexter my 5 month old Dalmatian has become very ill. About 5 days ago he began throwing up. I have had dogs in the past, so we decided to do a fast for 12-18 hours and then introduce a blend diet back from him. We thought he was coming through, but two days ago he began having diarrhea. The problem was that this diarrhea was black and tar like. After the 12 episode or so of the black tar diarrhea it was time to get him to the hospital. When we got there they did X-rays finding an obstruction and a descended stomach.
We had two choices
1. Pay the ER visit which was nearing $1000 with no actual treatment done to help him then leave and make him as comfortable as possible at home…
Or
2. Admit him to the hospital and do the surgery.
In order to admit him I had to find a way to pay half of what everything was going to cost right there and then…a family member stepped in and was able to support the payment on a credit card for now until we could get our feet on stable ground! What an angel!
I never saw myself in a million years asking friends and family for anything…let alone $, but right now I do not have many other options…
Any money given will go to Dexters care while in the hospital, his surgery, his post hospital care, prescription medication, and multiple follow up visits.
The total is under what will actually be needed after all is said and done, but if for some reason there was more money donated than needed I would like to give it to another family/dog in need.
Thank you in advance to anyone that is able to spare a dollar for my Dexter. I will never forget it, and i will return as many favors as possible in the future!
***Dexter is at Shores animal hospital in Harrisburg, Pa. If you feel more comfortable making a donation directly to them instead of on here please message me or text me and i will call them and give them permission to speak with you about his medical bills/condition. I will keep everyone updated on how he is doing!***
It sounds silly, but Dexter is a part of my world and he is like a child to me! I will do anything for that little boy. Please if you can help-please do! I truly believe in paying it forward. ❤️
