Hello fellow gamers, pinball wizards, and those that enjoy a stiff drink and at fun bar atmosphere to decompress from a long day!
Vidiot in West Seattle has long been a community staple and home for many of us gamers and fun seekers. If you're a West Seattle resident and a gamer, you've likely visited this awesome arcade bar quite often, and if you have a friend in West Seattle, they've likely brought you to this entertainment paradise for a late night adventure!
My name is David "DmO" and like many other regulars that frequent Vidiot, I was shocked to hear the recent news of Vidiot having to close down due to extensive financial hardship.
WAIT… WHAT HAPPENED?!?!
Yes, Vidiot has unfortunately hit some tough patches along the way and have done their best to keep afloat and their doors open while navigating through multiple financial challenges. Many of us patrons had no idea that Vidiot was in this sort of rut as they’ve kept doing what they love in serving and caring for the local West Seattle community.
From hosting multiple free events like Thanksgiving Dinner to Clothing Donation events to free weekly showings of your favorite premium shows, Vidiot has put the community first before themselves.
You may have noticed some of your favorite games disappearing, a reduction in friendly staff, various food menu items no longer being offered, etc. These are all difficult changes to make in order to keep your business afloat and as some of you fellow business owners may know, it just takes a few unexpected issues to happen in order to disrupt your everyday operations and keep you treading water.
So what can we do as a West Seattle community to help one of our local businesses that needs a hand? We can help by donating what we can and spreading the word to others that would be interested in helping! Vidiot urgently needs your help to tackle their financial burdens and to keep their doors open so they can continue to do what they love… providing a fun environment, good times, and a stiff drink!
WHAT WILL HAPPEN WITH YOUR DONATION?
1.) SALARY BACKPAY TO EMPLOYEES
Many of employees at Vidiot have worked on a volunteer basis in the recent months to help keep Vidiot open for the community after the owners have exhausted their own personal finances to support their staff. First and foremost, the Vidiot owners want to get their staff taken care of. This is absolutely critical, especially with the holiday season upon us.
2.) TACKLE THEIR FINANCIAL BURDENS
After taking care of their staff, the owners of Vidiot will then address the financial debts that are impacting their business and threatening to close their doors if we don’t act urgently to help them with our donations.
3.) IMPROVEMENTS TO THE VENUE
In the event that Vidiot is able to clear the first two obligations, then what remains of the donated funds will go into improving and enhancing the venue for the community enjoy!
Thank you for taking the time to read this fundraiser and considering a donation. Vidiot and it’s staff urgently need your help to keep their doors open and it’s up to the community to lend a hand where they can to help keep Vidiot alive!
If you can hold off on buying that hot new video game this month and a round of drinks, those funds could go a very long way to keeping an awesome local business alive. Plus, you’ll likely being going to Vidiot at some point soon to have drinks and play games anyways, so why not help them out!
I know it's a big goal amount for the community to reach, but if we all chip in to help were we can, then we can make it happen and save Vidiot!
On behalf of Vidiot and it's staff, thank you again for considering and happy holidays!
