this is McKenna, she’s our almost 1 year old daughter.

McKenna has been on a journey with hydrocephalus and fighting brain surgery. McKenna was diagnosed at just 3 months old in April of 2025. She spends 4-5 days in Duke children’s hospital almost every single month being put under IV sedation for MRI’s, EEG’s and other testing. McKenna’s medical equipment, expenses and missing work has cost us a fortune so we are hoping to offset costs. McKenna also has been diagnosed with papilledema in her eyes (pressure causing damage to the optic nerve due to the fluid build up from hydrocephalus), epileptic spasms, torticollus, laryngomalacia, an enlarged cavum septum pellucidum in her brain, macrocephaly, ventriculomegaly (prior to hydrocephalus), brain malformations, hypotonia all throughout her body and gross motor skills delays, causing her to have to do physical and occupational therapy twice a week.

these funds will be used towards anything needed along her journey. If she does get VA insurance she will need a $3K co pay. If she does not, we will be okay! Expenses while at the hospital, including food, parking, gas, anything related, dog sitters. To help with bills around the home as I cannot work with how she is. Any expenses needed along the way. Any co pays for any medications if required. Groceries. Anything Kenna or the other children or myself need. Thank you so much for the help along the way!
