Since 2005 my wife has undergone multiple breast biopsies. Alternating every six months between breast MRIs and mammograms.
This week, Tammy received the news all women fear. A lump in her breast is cancerous. A biopsy and scan revealed that she has ductal carcinoma in situ (high grade). A rare luminal microcalcification is present as well.
Tammy will be getting a double mastectomy in the upcoming weeks. Recovery will be difficult for not only Tammy, but our family.
We are living on a fixed income and learned that our insurance coverage is extremely poor. We will have to pay approximately $15,000 out of pocket for treatment, travel expenses to doctor/surgeon, and hotel accommodations for me and my kids to be close to Tammy, as we live in another county.
Tammy and I are extremely hard workers and we are not the type to ask for help. We literally built our home by ourselves with minimal help from others. We are always the first to help others who are in need. We are asking for this opportunity to help ease some of our financial burden, so I can focus on Tammy's heath. ANYTHING is appreciated.
Tammy lives by the motto "everything happens for a reason", while it is unknown what this reason is, I know she can handle this fight with courage and strength.
If you are unable to donate financially, prayers and positive thoughts are always appreciated.
