Update: We are overwhelmed with the amount of support Hattie has received! We never dreamed that it may be possible to purchase the Trexo instead of leasing for a year. To purchase the Trexo it costs $34,000. Although we met our original goal, we know there are still several people that have expressed interest in supporting Hattie. We increased the goal to allow those who want to be part of Hattie’s story the opportunity do so. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making this possible for our sweet girl!

Hi my name is Bryttani. My husband, Caleb, and I are fundraising for our daughter Hattie. Hattie suffered from severe lack of oxygen and blood flow to the brain (Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy) at birth. This brain injury has lead to several diagnoses and disabilities including Spastic Quadriplegia Cerebral Palsy. Hattie is now 2 years old and still working to gain head and trunk control. She is unable to walk, talk, or eat by mouth, all things the neurologist predicted while reviewing her MRI at a week old. However, we know that the brain can adapt and form new neural pathways when given a variety of experiences. Hattie works hard everyday to develop new skills and learn how to move her body. Our goal has always been to give Hattie every opportunity we can to help her reach her full potential, which brings us to why we created this fundraiser. There are so many therapies, treatments, and pieces of equipment that we want for Hattie to help her thrive.

We recently got on the waitlist to get Hattie a Trexo Robotic Gait Trainer. This device gives children with mobility impairments, like Hattie, the opportunity to walk. Weight bearing and walking are so important for hip development. It helps prevent the need for multiple surgeries in the future. The Trexo will provide Hattie with functional stretching and weight bearing to help her build strength in her muscles, joints, and bones. The idea of Hattie walking alongside her friends and cousins brings me so much joy! She deserves to have those experiences like any other kid. Our primary goal is to raise enough money to lease the Trexo Robotic Gait Trainer for a year to see how she does with it. Our long term goal is to purchase the Trexo for Hattie so she can continue to benefit from this life changing device.
