****UPDATE****
We were finally able to bring diesel home after 5 days and 4 nights in the ICU he still needs a lot of attention and care for the next couple weeks but he’s going to make a full recovery. We so so appreciate everyone helping out with his overwhelming emergency room bill.
Diesel has been sleeping all day and he is happy to be back with Me, Ethan and Brandy. Thank you all again
Hello everyone,
I’m reaching out to ask for help for our beloved dog, Diesel. Earlier this week Diesel started feeling ill and by Saturday morning, things went a bit down hill.
He needed to go outside every 45 minutes to avoid accidents and Friday evening he started vomiting on top of that. In shift me and Ethan took turns staying up with him through the night and Saturday morning he started having bloody diarrhea.
We took Diesel to the emergency vet, where he was diagnosed with severe acute pancreatitis and gastroenteritis. His GI tract has become so inflamed that it’s temporarily no longer functioning properly, causing fluids to build up in his stomach. This has led to regurgitation and a risk of asphyxiation or pneumonia. they placed a tube to drain excess fluids yesterday evening and he has continued to regurgitate. they are very hopeful he will make a full recovery but this supportive care is necessary for that to happen.
Diesel has been hospitalized for over 48 hours now and remains under constant care. The veterinary team is recommending he stay for at least another 24 hours to monitor his condition. they are recommending another ultrasound over his whole abdomen to try and figure out why he is still not recovered yet.
This has come completely out of nowhere, and we’re doing everything we can to help Diesel recover. However, the costs of his emergency care, medications, tests, and hospitalization are overwhelming.
He is responding to the treatment well but we don’t know how much longer he will need supportive care, and every day he remains under observation is helpful for his healing process.
Diesel is more than just a pet—he’s family. He has brought so much joy and love into our lives, and we’re determined to do everything we can to help him heal. If you’re able to contribute, no matter how small, it would mean the world to us.
If you can’t donate, please consider sharing Diesel’s story. Your kindness and support during this difficult time mean everything. Thank you for helping us give Diesel the care he needs to recover.
Thank you for your help,
Lindsey and Ethan
