Hi! I'm Julian, and this is our new suite-mate "Goose"! This past Friday, this beautiful Frenchie-Pitbull mix wound up on the front step of the PGA Tour Superstore in Delray Beach right as we opened the doors. As an employee, I figured this would be a normal day; however, when I came into work, I met the sweetest, happiest dog in the world. I figured he had to have an owner due to how gentle and trained he was, so I called my girlfriend, who drove him to a veterinarian hospital to test him for a chip. There wasn't one; therefore, finding his owner wouldn't be possible.
Upon further inspection, he appeared to be beat up, his eyes running, tail was cut clean at the end, scars on his body from sitting on burning hot South Florida pavement. Despite this, he had a smile on his face, his tail was wagging, and he was happy to be getting attention. After looking on the "Delray Strays" Facebook page, we learned he has been sighted as a stray for over a year. In his current condition, he wouldn't have lasted much longer on the street. Despite all of this, he remains incredibly sweet and loves being around people!
My girlfriend brought him back to her FAU apartment where we were able to evaluate him and realized that he was most likely abandoned by his previous owner as he is about 3 years old. How could someone treat such a sweet dog so terribly? It was at this time, we named him Goose! Because why not?!
After a few donations, we had enough money to take him to Paws2Help, a discount veterinarian hospital in West Palm Beach. Here we discovered he has heartworms, hookworms, and conjunctivitis. We were able to buy him medicine and food to start his months-long treatment plan; this alone has cost us over $1400 in just the 24 hours since we met him.
As of today, Goose is getting the proper medicine and food he needs to recover and live the life he deserves! We hope to provide him with the love and stability that he has never had. However, we need your help! Goose needs a year of treatment for his heartworm, he needs many more follow-up vet appointments, and he needs high-quality food to put on some weight. We are looking to raise at least $2,000; this money will go directly to providing Goose the happy life he deserves!
