Top Surgery

Dear Friends and Family,

I have finally decided to move forward with something I have been thinking about for a long time now: top surgery. This is an exciting and scary moment for me -- exciting for obvious reason, but scary especially to do this without my community surrounding me.

I am lucky enough that my insurance will cover the surgery (go Swiss health system), but there will be several associated costs including meeting my deductible (probably somewhere around $1,300), paying for the help we need, and purchasing some items to make recovery more manageable.

I was thinking about starting a meal train rather than a gofundme, but then I realized that asking you all to order food through Swiss and German websites would be... difficult. So I decided to do this and ask for some help, even though it is hard and not fun to ask.

If you can help in any way, Jess and I would be so greatly appreciative. If you would have bought or made us a meal, or swung by to care for Rafi or do some dishes, please consider donating even a small amount of money so that we cover the cost of paying for these things. We have some friends here, but nothing like the support system back home.

I cannot articulate how much your support means to me and to Jess. I wish that I had more to give in this moment, and I greatly miss all of you who I haven't had as much contact with since I've been in Switzerland.
