The Mustard Seed Project is rooted in the sincere belief that small things can - and do - matter deeply.

After spending nearly two decades pouring into the in-home health care industry, we have tasted and seen that even the tiniest seeds of kindness, compassion, and generosity can take root and grow into something so much more than we could ask or imagine when planted intentionally.

Throughout those years, our hands and feet have been used to serve others in ways that have overwhelmed our hearts with the kind of joy that can only be felt by giving away more than someone could ever repay - but it has also broken our hearts wide open.

It is - and will always be - heart-wrenching to see overwhelming needs become silent burdens that people carry in invisible ways, but there's so much more to their stories below the surface that often times is missed or overlooked because it requires more.

More intentionality to hear what's not being said when shame and embarrassment keep the whole picture hidden for far too long.

More time to earn and build the kind of trust it takes to be able to draw close enough to be entrusted to carry those unspoken needs, too.

More initiative on our part to do something about every need, now that we're aware of them more fully.

More resources when we recognize some - or maybe all - of those needs may be best served by a different provider when that is what serving someone well truly looks like.

More accountability to see those needs not just as a "job" we're tasked to do in order to fulfill a Care Plan, or a service we are asked to provide in order to complete a Care Log - but to really, truly, whole-heartedly see each need individually - and the person carrying the full weight of them collectively - as something so much less than a business opportunity, and so much more like the calling it is to steward them.

More purposeful to recognize above all that each and every time we're invited into helping shoulder those needs so intentionally, we have a beautiful opportunity to allow that kind of goodness to take root in ways that put people before their profitability - and that matters deeply.

Serving others so intimately from the front row seats in their lives has impacted our lives in ways we couldn't have even imagined.

We have always believed we could do hard things, but we have seen just how much of a difference it makes when we put our feet on the floor to do hard things together.

No act of kindness is ever wasted.

No seed planted in love returns empty.

And even the smallest offerings can grow to make a difference in the lives of others.

It's a dream that we believe was planted by the Giver of all good gifts, and a calling to pour everything He's given us into stewarding something so much bigger than ourselves.
