Hi! My name is Jorge. I'm a single father to an amazing 8-year-old daughter, artist, and writer and I could really use your help right now! As some of you are aware, I lost my main gig after the company I worked for went belly up last September and have been hustling with side-gigs (driving for Lyft, writing articles, etc.) while searching for a new full-time job to keep up with rent, bills, food, student loans, etc. Unfortunately, it has been a bit of an uphill battle for me - I have donated to some of these fundraisers in the past and have thought, "That can never be me"... but here I am. I know times are tough for everyone these days and I really struggled with the fact if I should even make one of these. After talking to some close friends, I was convinced that this is just merely asking for help. If people can help, they will. So here I am. I am asking you for help.

Over the past few months, I had to make some hard financial decisions, especially after exhausting what little savings I had. I am a little embarrassed to say it, but I chose to ensure I had a roof over my head and that has put me way behind on some of my other bills. Today (1/17), my car was repossessed (the irony is I was just talking to my lender to pay a portion of my bill). My car was my main source of transportation to see my daughter (who lives way in Ventura County) and a source of income (Lyft).

My plan is to use the funds to retrieve my car back (there is still time) and pay what the lender requires to reinstate my loan and pay the towing/storage fees.
