Hi! I'm Yisrael, I will be in the 8th grade this fall, and I was born to dance. Some of you already know me. Some of you even helped me get to the Dance Theater of Harlem last summer! I am STILL thankful. It was a GREAT experience and I even received an award for my BALLET.
I have been fortunate to be able to train in dance (Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, and Hip Hop)
for 5 years. In these 5 years I realized that not everyone is so lucky. Dance is expensive. I know there are other kids who also love dance and just cannot afford it. As a boy who LOVES dance I have had to grow up quick and find my courage. As an African American boy who loves dance, in particular Ballet, it has been a little lonely. I rarely see kids that look like me. I am determined to take my place in dance. I want to see everyone who is talented in dance have a chance to train just like me. I am here and ready to blaze my trail. To be the difference. Will you help me? How, you ask?
Well, THIS summer I have another fantastic opportunity that I am sure you Arts lovers can help me with. I have been given the limited and very exclusive opportunity to study dance at the oldest Dance and Theater Training school in America!!! I will also get to take classes in equestrian, creative writing and acting! Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts School and Camp in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
Perry-Mansfied cost $4,500 to attend the month long training. I have been absolutely blessed with a lot of scholarship to cover tuition. However, I still need quite a bit more to get there. I am working hard to raise $2,000 to cover the remaining cost of tuition and $3,000 for the travel and living expenses I will need to get to Colorado and be there for 4 weeks.
I am calling on all family, friends, acquaintances, and ALL Art Lovers for support. Every donation is appreciated. I would also love it if everyone would share my link with everyone you know!!! Will you help me reach my goal?
