It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to my nephew, Yiri Gerson Zapata, who was a father and a son. He came to the U.S. in hopes of helping his family in Honduras financially. Sadly, Yiri only lasted a few months in the U.S. before a fatal heart attack caused his death yesterday on July 18th, 2022.

He was expected to return to his family, in Honduras, this Sunday. He flight was booked and tickets purchased but unfortunately, his plans were changed. Since he was here alone - for work purposes - there is no immediate family to perform a funeral or burial.

As you can imagine, the financial hardship that this has created for his family. We are asking for your support and collaboration to help the Zapata Banegas family to transport his body to Honduras, so his family can see him ONE LAST TIME and to cover any funeral expenses.

Con mucha tristeza nos despedimos de mi sobrino, Yiri Gerson Zapata, quien fue padre e hijo. Llegó a los Estados Unidos con la esperanza de ayudar financieramente a su familia en Honduras. Lamentablemente, Yiri solo duró unos meses en los EE. UU. antes de que un infarto fatal causara su muerte ayer, 18 de julio de 2022. Se esperaba que regresara con su familia, en Honduras, este domingo. Se reservó el vuelo y se compraron los boletos, pero desafortunadamente, sus planes cambiaron. Como estaba aquí solo, por motivos de trabajo, no hay familiares directos para realizar un funeral o entierro. Como puede imaginar, las dificultades financieras que esto ha creado para su familia. Estamos solicitando su apoyo y colaboración para ayudar a la familia Zapata Banegas a transportar su cuerpo a Honduras, para que su familia pueda verlo UNA ÚLTIMA VEZ y cubrir los gastos del funeral.
