Our Story in 2023:
Over 40 years ago, Rabbi Chaim Bausk aspired to build an orthodox shul in East Northport for the many families who were looking to enhance their Jewish lives. He founded the Young Israel of East Northport (YIEN) in 1980 and through his hard work and dedication, he succeeded not in just creating a place to daven, learn and gather for Shabbos, but also in creating a beautiful community that remains today a special place and a proud center of Torah for Suffolk County.
Today, the close-knit families of our community together with the leadership of Rabbi Yehuda Chinskey continue to keep our shul vibrant. Rabbi Chinskey, together with his wife Dina and their beautiful family help us with weekly classes, uplifting davening, inspiring drashas and amazing shabbos kiddishes.
Like many shuls, we have our challenges like inflation and demographics, but as an outpost Orthodox shul in eastern Long Island, we need to look beyond our strong core community for support.
At this time, we call upon the help of others. Specifically, the broad community of people around the world who have been touched by this shul and who have been inspired by Torah through its leaders, past and present. We kindly and humbly ask those people to help us continue forward with this important mission.
We are therefore pleased to announce a YIEN fundraiser to help us reach this goal. We are hoping to raise a modest $45,000 to help us sustain the current needs of our shul as well as work towards reaching out to new members. We have been able to secure matching funds of $22,500 from some of our community's generous families. They have agreed to match, DOLLAR for DOLLAR, the first $22,500 to come in, but only up until June 30th.
As this is a time-sensitive fundraising drive, we need your donation TODAY! Please help us take advantage of this amazing opportunity to make your donation count! Help allow YIEN to continue to serve as a center for learning, davening, and uniting our community.
PLEASE MAKE YOUR DONATION WORTH DOUBLE AND DONATE TODAY!
Thank you. We truly appreciate your help.
