Hi, my name is Lori Paschal, and I am fundraising for two longtime friends, Amy and Scott Clinard. Amy and Scott are currently facing a battle no parent should ever have to. Recently, their nine year old son Justin, was diagnosed with two inoperable brain tumors.
Justin is currently taking radiation and chemotherapy treatments five times a week at the Proton Center in the Children’s Hospital of Atlanta. Once his treatments are complete Justin will have an MRI on July 20th and a follow up visit with the Neuro-Oncologist on July 28th to determine what the plan will be. There is a medicine that could possibly extend his life expectancy, however, it has been denied by insurance. Amy and Scott are currently waiting to see if the team of Neuro-Oncologists can appeal the decision.
Justin is doing well with the treatments, mainly experiencing hair loss and fatigue. He is enjoying working out, swimming, playing pool and learning to play instruments while staying at the apartment they had to rent near the hospital. With these treatments, and having to rent an apartment, comes large medical bills, travel and lodging expenses, as well as every day needs for Justin and their 15 year old son, Jordan.
Both Amy and Scott have always been ones to give selflessly. They are both Veterans and often participate in Veterans Charity Events. Recently, they donated hats to the Proton Center, to help children like Justin receiving treatments. Now is our chance to give back to them. Every dollar donated will help significantly. Together, we CAN make a difference.
