Support Rachel's Battle with Leukemia

Donation protected
Family and friends, we know some of you have already heard that Rachel was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia on August 15th. She had not been sick up until a week prior, so this diagnosis came as a huge shock for our family.

Rachel was hospitalized in Guatemala and then decided with both medical teams (the one in Guatemala and one in the US) that the best treatment was in the US.

Within a week, our lives were changed, and we decided to move to Michigan for her treatment. Rachel will start chemotherapy on Monday, August 25th.

As far as we know, this process could take between 15-24 months, and that’s why our plans are to stay in Michigan. She’s being treated at the University of Michigan.

Rachel will be hospitalized for the next month and then be back and forth a couple of times a week for treatments and check-ups.

Her husband, Berner, will need to get his residency in order to figure out working in the States and staying here for a longer period of time, as his tourist visa allows him only a certain amount of time. He will also have to step into caring for Rachel when she’s not in the hospital, as well as raising their two babies.

If you are able to support our family, we would appreciate any help with prayers/finances. All donations will go towards the following:

- Medical treatment received in Guatemala
- Medical treatment/chemotherapy at UofM
- Travel expenses from Guatemala to the US and any additional travel in the next months as Berner works on clearing out our home in Guatemala
- Relocation fees as we will have to restart our lives in Michigan from scratch
- Immigration/lawyer fees as we work on getting Berner a permanent visa/citizenship in the US
- Any care their daughters (Aria 20 months, Ivy 2 months) may need as Berner takes care of both them and Rachel.

We’ve already seen God’s hand at work in so many ways, and we are so incredibly grateful for all of your prayers and support.

Thank you in advance!!
