In this book, Farrah Fritz—a brilliant woman with a Master’s Degree in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences—writes of her nearly 25 years of lived experience with severe bipolar disorder. She takes the reader on a journey through her manic episodes triggered by weeks with only minutes of sleep, followed by her falls into worlds of alternate reality, in which the things that typically anchored her were inaccessible. Most remarkably, Farrah writes of the skills and practices that she has integrated from several great teachings (such as Zen Buddhism and lessons from Eckhart Tolle) and a deep turning inward toward God, which have given her the strength, groundedness, and vision to cope each time her world has been turned upside-down. This eloquently written and inspiring book is a must-read for those seeking deeper understanding of mental illness, but it also has lessons for all of us, as we journey through our own times of crisis and challenge. It is Farrah’s gift to us all to share her story that has taken her 20 years to be ready to tell. Your contribution of any amount will be a gift to all those who are working to understand mental health issues and the intersections of mental health with family, community, spirituality, and healing. Thank you for considering and contributing to the project!

Thank you all for visiting! I am raising money to fund editing services and publishing of my manuscript that is my personal life's journey with mental illness. I am inspired to share my story to instill hope in others dealing with mental illness, and to give deeper meaning to life's circumstances through my memoir. I am hoping to raise $6000 for editing and publishing services, which includes creating an audiobook version of the text.
