Hello, my name is Pooja and my mom recently got diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, or adenocarcinoma, we don’t have much information about her prognosis but we do know her time is limited. The doctors said they won’t be performing surgery to surgically remove the cancer as it’s spread too much to accurately remove; however, we may be able to do chemotherapy treatments to prolong her life a little more.
I will be shaving my hair when her hair starts falling as we move forward with treatments, and I’ve found an organization, Tress Transformations, that can turn my hair into a wig for her. It’s quite costly and I am not able afford this wig for her. (As a side note I am also accepting e-transfers through my email if it's easier: poojadeo1221 at gmail dot com(formatted for privacy))
My mom, Reshma, has been an RN for 25+ years and has given herself whole wholeheartedly to the community, her family and friends, but almost never has indulged in anything for herself. She is the most self-sacrificing woman I know and she has done so much for everyone, it breaks my heart to see her at war with herself due to her diagnosis. Her concerns aren’t even about the loss of her life, she rants on about taking care of my sister and her dreams of wanting me to finish nursing school. I know she has an excellent family in the healthcare system and community, and I hope to do anything I can for her in these trying times. I ask that we all have hope for her to fight, and come out stronger when this is all over, she’s the strongest woman I know and she just needs to believe in herself as much as we all believe in her.
