St. Peter’s hospice

You might have heard that I’m fundraising to raise awareness and raise donations to the St Peters hospice. This charity is very important to me because I recently lost my good friend Levi to cancer and Saint Peters Hospice provided care for him in his last days, making sure he could be at home and as comfortable as possible
Levi was a well loved brother, son and friend, who was first diagnosed in the early years of secondary school and was taken too soon after losing a battle with cancer after so long.
Levi has inspired me to take on this Challenge in honour of him – to climb Island peak! The cost of my trip is already been paid, so every penny donated will go straight to the St Peters Hospice Charity.
My challenge starts with flying to Lurka Airport (worlds most dangerous airport) via Kathmandu, followed by a 9 day trek to Everest base camp. From Everest base camp, a 2 day trek to the next camp at Island Peak takes me to extremely cold temperatures. Then the final day trek, a huge challenge to reach Summit Island peak, hopefully on day 12. The top of the mountain is 6160m. The route includes circuitous rocky paths and scrambles to the snow line, followed by a section moving in rope teams across glaciated and crevassed terrain and then a 300 metre headwall to the summit ridge. The headwall is fixed with a rope to clip onto, and this extends all the way along an exposed summit ridge about 300 metres long which is narrow and precipitous but not steep. The top itself is quite small with only enough room for maybe four or five people to stand safely, where I will remember Levi.
Then I will be making my decent down and finding a hot shower! Before making my journey home.
I’m grateful for the moral support I have already received and need help reaching my fundraising goal of £2000 for the St Peters Hospice. If you can donate even £1.00 it will all help towards the planned donation to a deserved charity.
It would also mean a lot if you could share my fundraiser link on social media, even if you can’t afford during these hard times a share can still help me. I depart march 31st. Thank you.
