Tracy's Battle with Stage 4 Lung Cancer
This is our loving and courageous Tracy Miles. She is the mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend of the collective authors of this Go Fund Me page. Tracy is fiercely independent and incredibly giving. She is always the first to support others; however, it is extremely difficult for her accept help, even when the circumstances warrant it.
On June 28, 2021, at the age of 51, Tracy was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer. The cancer is incurable, however, she is undergoing chemotherapy to try and lengthen the time she has left with us. Due to her chemotherapy treatment, she was laid off of work on July 3rd as she is no longer able to lift the minimum weight required for her to carry out her job duties. As a single mother for the majority of her life, Tracy has no other sources of financial support and on August 17th, she went before the court to be granted bankruptcy. Her bankruptcy is expected to be granted in early September.
Tracy has a high deductible health plan and disability doesn’t start until February 2022. Since she is responsible for all of her bills and expenses from when bankruptcy is granted, we are looking at several months of financial hardship for Tracy.
Tracy started chemotherapy on July 6th. As of late August, she has had 3 rounds of chemo. After her 4th round, they will do two CT scans and an MRI of her brain to see if the cancer has stopped spreading. So far, she has been responding well to the chemo and her enlarged lymph nodes have started shrinking. We keep praying for continued progress.
Tracy is a well-loved person by her family and the communities of Tomah, Warrens, Millston, and Knapp, WI. Her generous heart and care for others is part of who she is and we certainly want her to be on the receiving end in her time of need.
We will keep this page updated on Tracy’s progress and we are also planning a benefit for her to be held on March 26, 2022. We will provide more details as we get closer to the date.
To anyone who can help support Tracy during this difficult time, we extend our sincere gratitude for your generous support.
