Lauren's Body Needs Healing

Over the last year and a half, Lauren has been on a healing journey from:

 

• Surgery

• Covid (twice)

• Three Car Accidents

• Lyme Disease Diagnosis

• Eight other infections discovered

• Thirteen Dental Cavities needed to be filled

As a missionary with an entrepreneurial spirit, things have been challenging for Lauren on just about every single level this last year and a half.

 

At the beginning of 2021, Lauren transitioned from a job she was contracted with for several years; it was both unforeseen and surprising for her. It was also quite an adjustment.

 

Soon after that, towards the end of January 2021, Lauren tested Covid positive. Then a week after having come out of the proper Covid quarantine time, Lauren had a sudden and unexpected surgery to remove something potentially cancerous in her body. The surgery recovery took longer than anticipated and was a dreadful experience for her.

 

Two days after recovering from her invasive surgery, Lauren was informed that her mother had multiple myeloma cancer. About three weeks after learning of her mother’s diagnosis, Lauren’s dad, who had been in excellent health until this point, was informed that he would need surgery on his heart. Lauren’s siblings and her spent the next several months caring for her parents in multiple ways and fronts. It was quite a journey for Lauren.

 

Around Fall 2021 – Lauren began seeking medical treatment for two different car accidents that had happened to her a couple of years back. She hadn’t physically completed healing from these car accidents and knew that she needed to seek further medical attention. Upon doing extensive research on the best facility to receive treatment at – Lauren found the right fit. However, the medical provider she found is located about an hour and 15 minutes from where she lives. Lauren knew that it was essential for her to receive treatment from this medical provider – so in the Fall of 2021, she began the journey of seeing this wellness center and driving to and from this location three times a week.

 

Around wintertime 2021, Lauren thought it would be a good idea to get some further diagnostic work done. So she began this further medical investigation by having her doctors do some extensive blood testing. Upon having testing done is when things started to appear more clearly. However, even though things became clearer – there became more complexity in the overall treatment of her case.

 

Lauren’s doctor, with over 30 years of professional medical practice under his belt, explained that upon reviewing her different labs, Lauren’s case is one of the highest complexities he has ever dealt with in all of his years of practice. This news was surprising and yet brought Lauren a sense of peace all at the same time. She felt medically " seen" for the first time in a long time.

 

What was discovered is several things that would and could potentially require anywhere from 6 months to up to 2+ years to recover and heal fully from.

 

Around Winter 2021, Lauren discovered that she was diagnosed in her labs with Lyme Disease and eight other significant infections her body is trying to heal and recover from simultaneously. Additionally, Lauren’s body is also trying to heal from two different car accidents (from a couple of years ago) and chronic post-concussion symptoms.

 

Lauren discovered in 2020 that she would need several Dental Cavities filled. However, with the pandemic, getting those cavities filled had to get put on hold. Fast forward to the end of 2021, her cavities had yet to be treated and thus had grown in both size and number. There is a rather complex story attached to this situation. But essentially, the gist is that Lauren needed to have 13 cavities filled with particular composite fillings, and insurance did not cover the cost of the dental work. The subject of dental care and this specific component of her healing journey was causing Lauren immense physical pain for a long time.

 

The road to recovery for Lauren’s body has been a long one. About two months ago, Lauren was starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel – and then, unfortunately, in April of this year, she was in another car accident. Making this her third auto-related accident within the last six years. The damage to her vehicle was minor. However, the accident caused Lauren’s body to spiral backward rather than forwards in the healing journey.

 

Regarding finances, Lauren has been unemployed for approximately the last year and a half. Working is not in the equation for a body that is in as much recovery as hers presently is. This reality makes Lauren sad as she has several passions she has wanted to develop into businesses for a long time. Being unable to do so physically has caused her immense emotional pain.

 

Lauren looks forward to the day when being a successful entrepreneur becomes physically feasible for her.

 

Until then, Lauren plans to focus as intentionally as possible on getting physically well. Over the last six months, she has been on a challenging road to physical recovery. Lauren has been seeing seven different doctors/practitioners/wellness therapists, etc..… this has been done and will continue to be done with the sole intent of recovering and healing from:

 

• Surgery

• Covid (twice)

• Three Car Accidents

• Lymes Disease Diagnosis

• Eight other infections discovered

• Thirteen Dental Cavities needed to be filled

 

Once Lauren heals from these things, her goal is to be able to move forward in a whole and healthy way. Hopefully, she will be able to pursue the business/entrepreneurial endeavors that she has had on her heart and mind for quite some time.

 

Regarding the subject of healing, there has been discussion about purchasing several different pieces of medical equipment for in-home treatment. This would significantly cut Lauren’s travel time and allow her to heal more efficiently without compromising effectiveness. Lauren has also been considering going to a couple of international clinics to seek treatment for a few weeks. All of these things require proper financing.
