Hi, My name is Tracie Bernardi Guzman and I am coming to you because my sister Tina Pesillo Sessa's fiance Larry Tashjian recently had a kidney transplant and now he's having severe issues. He's been in and out of the hospital and the doctors can't figure it out. He was rushed back this morning with breathing issues. 4/19/23 after just coming home.
First and foremost I am asking for your prayers and I thank you for them!! As a result of all of this, my sister had to temporarily close down her restaurant in Torrington, Ct Cafe 38. Obviously, Larry is unable to work and with Tina Back and forth to the hospital, she's unable to keep the restaurant open. I am hoping those who can donate will because the last thing Larry and Tina should be worrying about is their bills. I have almost 6,000 people on my FaceBook page so even if you can only donate $1.00 or $5.00 it will add up!! I believe together we can help my beautiful sister and her amazing Fiance get through this time.
Here's My Sister Tina Telling their story in her own words-
Our journey began towards the end of 2019, while the world was shutting down due to covid, Larry was starting the fight of his life. His kidneys were rapidly shutting down and we would soon learn he needed a kidney transplant.
During this time Larry put on a brave face and no matter how badly he felt he would go to work and continually puts his best foot forward. To look at him most would never realize how sick he is.
Fast forward to 11/22 he was at 10% kidney function and underwent his first surgery to be able to start dialysis.
A miracle happened on 1/7/23 he received a life-saving phone call, a kidney had become available. We along with our families thanked God for this precious second chance and yet we mourned for the family who had lost a loved one.
After the transplant Larry was doing seemingly well in fact he was considered a star patient and was on track to return to work on April 10th. However, the weeks leading up to his anticipated return he began showing signs that things weren’t quite right. He was sleeping most of the time and in some ways almost seemed sicker then pre-transplant.
On Easter Sunday 4/8/23 things would take an alarming turn in which Larry’s entire system began to shut down, had it not been for the medical intervention he would of died.
He then spent the next 8 days in the hospital where they ran countless tests of which it pointed to fluid around his heart and lungs so they placed a drain into his heart and attempted to drain the fluid. Even though they ran every test they could think of there just didn’t seem to be a reason this was happening to him. Since they had stabilized him they felt it safe for him to discharged on 4/17/23.
He was elated to be home but clearly was still very weak so he followed doctors orders and rested. During the evening of 4/18/23 he began having extreme difficulty breathing and we are now back in the ER awaiting admission. We still have no real answers as to why this is happening. He is scared as is his fiancée.
At this time we do not know what even this days hold but we do know that so many of our loved ones and dear friends are keeping him in their thoughts and prayers. For that, we are eternally thankful!!!
We are starting this Go Fund Me to help ease some of the financial burdens and to send a clear message to Larry that it’s ok to stay home until he’s 100% better.
