Focus on Africa

Hey! My Name is Kirsty and this year I will be taking part in the London Marathon!!

Completing the London Marathon has been on my bucket list now for a good few years and I cannot believe I finally have the chance to tick it off!! I genuinely feel so incredibly lucky to be given this amazing opportunity and I will be running/walking (maybe even crawling!!) for a charity called, ‘Focus on Africa’.

Since 2004, Focus on Africa has been serving local causes in and around Kisumu in Western Kenya; assisting schools, children’s homes and individuals in practical ways. In 2014 the charity decided to focus its energies on building a medical clinic in a rural area near Kisumu and in 2016 ‘The Peter Plumb Harmony Clinic’ was opened and staffed by local health care professionals. Since then, Focus on Africa has continued to support the clinic - making medical treatment available to those who would not normally be able to afford it.

The clinic isn’t cheap to run; it costs around £400 every month! I would love to do my bit and support this charity to help enable the clinic to continue serving the communities health care needs. You never know when you may need medical support, and everyone should be entitled to this support, regardless of their financial status!

I have been set the task to raise £1000 for this charity which is a huge amount of money, so any donation, big or small, will be greatly appreciated! Forever grateful to be given the chance to complete this bucket list goal, whilst raising money for a charity that help and support, so many people

Thank you for taking the time to read my page! xxx
