Ptl. Jay Marles Memorial Park
We are both proud and humbled that with the Love and support from Ocean Gate Mayor Paul Kennedy, The Ocean Gate Police Department and the entire Ocean Gate Community that a playground is being dedicated to our son Ptl. Jason Marles Badge #271 who served the Ocean Gate Police Department. Jay was tragically taken by a drunk driver on November 25, 2010, Thanksgiving morning after working a special DUI detail.
Jay was devoted to his family, friends and his brothers and sisters in blue. He could disarm you with his smile and was a true mentor to the children of his Ocean Gate family.
We have been blessed to join efforts with a wonderful foundation "WHERE ANGELS PLAY" a non profit organization. Proceeds raised will go to a memorial statue honoring Jay and offset costs for future enhancements to the playground. They will also assist the foundation in paying it forward to other families and communities in providing safe places for children to play in communities in need and to HONOR LIVES who have LEFT US MUCH TOO SOON!
The playground will be built July 31st and August 01st with a ribbon cutting ceremony on August 02nd. Please help us reach our goal in honoring Jay.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and support
