AHS Young Feminist Fundraiser for Dignity Matters
Tax deductible
Arlington High School Young Feminist Alliance (YFA) Fundraiser for Dignity Matters
The AHS YFA is organizing a fundraiser. All proceeds go to Dignity Matters, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in Massachusetts. Dignity Matters “collects, purchases and supplies feminine hygiene products, bras and underwear to women and girls who are homeless or disadvantaged, in order to help them stay healthy, regain self-confidence, and live with basic dignity.”
Why do we need your support?
Prior to the pandemic, Dignity Matters was providing menstrual products and other supplies to approximately 2000-3000 women a month through their relationship with various shelters, community organizations, and schools in high-need communities. Once the pandemic hit, they have risen to the challenge of providing products and supplies to over 8500 women a month. This incredible increase in need underscores the importance of their work. While some COVID-related funding was available last year, most of it has ended and your contributions are sorely needed right away.
The AHS YFA is proud to partner yet again with Dignity Matters to close this funding gap. Through partnerships with wholesalers, Dignity Matters can provide menstrual products for one woman for as little as $2.16 a month. Your donation will help thousands of women in our local communities have access to safe, sanitary and necessary products, which are not covered by food stamps and are frequently missing from shelter and food pantry donations. In 2019, our product drive brought in $3600 worth of products, and we are confident that we can meet and exceed that figure this year and meet this need.
Our gofundme will be active from March 12 to April 9 in honor of Women’s History Month. Please donate today, spread the message, and share the gofundme to your networks. Your donation is tax-deductible, and documentation for your records is available upon request.
We are so grateful for your support of this critical need.
