Malcolm Roberts

Lewisham Youth has recently lost one of its longest serving memebers. Malcolm Roberts came to the club as most do as a parent firstly to 4 boys who have all played for the club over the years. Two of the boys have stayed with the club and are currently running teams at different age groups as Malcolm’s grand children now play for Lewisham Youth.

Malcolm was a manager himself for a period of time but is probably best remembered as a very dedicated referee, dropping everything at short notice to make sure the game went ahead with a man in black in the middle.

As with most families, along with Malcolm is his wife of many years Lesley. She has served as our child welfare officer and also runs the tea bar on the weekends.

We would like to install a memorial bench at Warren Avenue in lasting memory of Malcolm and also to support Lesley at this very difficult time so Lewisham Youth have decided to set up a just giving page to fund this.
