Shirley Stephenson Needs Our Help!
On November 15, 2016, the Oregon Humane Society executed a search warrant on the property in Veneta, Oregon occupied by Shirley Stephenson, founder of Monet French Bulldogs and her landlady Eddie Maas, only days after Eddie had to be rushed to the hospital with a serious case of pneumonia. All eleven dogs of Eddie Maas's dogs were seized from the property, the house was condemned, and while Eddie remains in hospital and Eddie's dogs remain in the custody of the OHS, Shirley, at 71 years of age, has found herself homeless and relying on the kindness of friends.
After renting from her landlady for more than twenty years, Shirley must not only find a new home to rent, but she must pay the start up costs associated with a new rental (security deposit, last month's rent), as well as pay for basic furnishings. Shirley needs our help in putting together a new home and starting her life all over again.
Many of us French Bulldog owners have known Shirley and her dogs since the 1990's. We've met her at dog shows, purchased her puppies, adopted her retirees, and conversed and even argued with her through social media. Shirley and her "family" of French Bulldogs are part of our extended family. Despite the ugliness of the statements made by the OHS against her, we are standing behind her because she needs our help.
If you can afford to help out, please contribute. if you can't contribute, please share this fundraiser on your social media. Shirley thanks you from the bottom of her heart!
