On the night of Saturday, February 13th in San Francisco there was a devastating fire at 1563-67 Fulton Street. One of my dearest friends, Leslee McCray, has been living at 1565 for the past 10 years.

I spent Valentine's Day helping her sift through what was left of her possessions...from the photos of her apartment, you can imagine that it wasn't much. We left with about 4 trash bags of clothes and personal items, and only about half of that was salvageable.
Leslee is an amazing person and talked over dinner on Valentine's Day night about how lucky she and her neighbors are that no one was hurt, and was almost able to laugh over the cathartic cleansing of "stuff". The only problem is, she does need a new place to call home, basic furnishings for that new place, and replacement work clothes (everything non-casual in the closet was totally destroyed). Her only shoes right now are the boots she was wearing and the flip flops we picked up at Target this afternoon.
Please help me in raising money to help get Leslee back on her feet. $5? Great! $20? Amazing! More? You're an angel. I hope together we can turn this tragedy into a new beginning.
