Daniel, Shannon and Abbie Lehmann are a shining example of a most faithful, selfless, gracious and kind family – one many of us are lucky to know. Those of us that have the pleasure know the extraordinary circumstances they have endured in recent months. Let’s help them out.
For those of you who might be reading this and unaware, Daniel and Shannon’s son, and Abbie’s big brother, Joey, passed away Friday, May 15, 2015, in Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago after a very brief illness. He was just 8 years old.
Not imagining a worse-case scenario, the Lehmanns exhausted all of their available paid-time-off and savings taking care of Joey, paying medical and funeral expenses, and in their continuing recovery as a family.
Recovery is a key word. Daniel is now in a fight against cancer. He has been diagnosed with a treatable form of testicular cancer, underwent surgery, and is currently undergoing chemotherapy.
The Lehmanns would be the very last people to ask for help; however, it would be great to support them and lessen the already enormous burden on their family.
If we could help accommodate a few more weeks of unpaid leave so Shannon could remain at Daniel's side while he undergoes each coming round of chemo, it would be awesome.
Donations may be made here or at any Alpine Bank location where 100% of your donation would reach the Lehmann family (reference the Benefit Account for Daniel and Shannon Lehmann). Any help is most generous and appreciated. Thank you.
