Yeti's Cancer Surgery
Donation protected
Since early 2015 Yeti, my 10 year old Lhasa Apso, has been dealing with recurring bouts of Pancreatitis. It is a very painful and serious condition. He suffers with vomiting, diahrea, lethargy and has to be put on a very strict diet.
Fast forward to what I thought was another reoccurance of pancreatitis and took him to the vet on Friday, Feb 17th. During the exam, the vet felt a mass in his belly area. Yeti had an ultrascan which confirmed a mass on his small intestines. They wanted a confirmation of the mass so Yeti was transferred to South Texas Veterinary Specialists who did a more comprehensive ultrasound while he was sedated. They did needle aspirations to take samples of the mass. It was determined that it is a carcinoma the size of a lemon. He also has enlarged/inflammed lymphnodes and a bacterial infection. That thing needs to come out! The vet is confident that they will be able to remove the portion of intestines with the tumor and Yeti will make a full recovery.
I need help! The surgery is going to be upwards of $2500. He will also be hospitalized for about 4 days while recoving. I've already spent $1700 just on Friday for the tests and there's a chance chemo medication will follow the surgery.
I'm asking my friends and family to help me out if they can. I know it's a lot, but every little bit will help immensly! Should there be any leftover funds, I will donate the remaining money to the Puppy Up Foundation.
My "Yeti-spaghetti" deserves a shot at getting rid of this nasty tumor so he can go back to being the happy, sweet-loving boy he has always been.
Surgery is set for this coming Tuesday, February 21st at South Texas Veterinarian Specialists.
Thank you for all your help!
