YESS Movie Outing
Last year I visited the Youth Emergency Services and Shelter on Christmas Day for my job. I saw kids hanging out at the shelter, on a day when they should of been enjoying the holidays. I got me thinking and I thought, what if we could give these kids a break from their life, even if for just one day. A plan started brewing in my mind, so I contacted a local movie theater and they agreed to give me a discounted rate. I also contacted DART bus, and they also agreed to give me a discounted rate. I contacted YESS and they are very excited about this opportunity. So the week of Christmas, we are going to take all the kids and staff to a movie, to just enjoy the holidays and get out for the day. But all this costs money, and honestly I wish I could just write a check for the cost of everything, but I can't this year. I approached my good friend Jordan that loves doing things like this, and he was 100% on board. So our goal is to raise $1,000 for YESS this holiday season. That will cover transportation to and from the theater, a private screening of a movie, and a concession snack for every kid. I'm not asking for much, but if everyone of my friends donated $5, we would have this thing paid for no problem. Let's blow this goal out of the water and get these kids an amazing afternoon at the movies!!!
