The letter below was recently composed by Renee Clair, Bear's Wife. It explain's the process's that their family is facing both now and in the future. As Bear's Friend, the very least that I could do is to extend a helping hand with an Online Fundraiser. For those that have offered your Prayer's and Support, Bear is most Grateful. For those who can give $1 or more, it will make a difference to this family. While a local fundraiser is being planned it will not kick off until April and Bear needs our support now as expenses mount DAILY! This journey is an Expensive one. Please take a moment, read Renee's letter and if you can find it in your heart to donate what you can afford, know that every single dollar counts on this journey. Bear has given so much to so many people over the year's. He has been such a good friend and an Inspiration to so many, myself included. It has always been an honor to call him, My Friend.

A Letter From Renee:
Hello,
My Name is Renee Clair, I am Micheal Bear Clairs wife. Some of you know me, others do not so I have to make
this letter cover everyone. Hope you all understand.
As you may have heard by now, my husband is undergoing a very risky and dangerous experimental treatment
for post concussive syndrome w/CTE. He suffered many injuries during his time as a professional wrestler and is
now paying for it with his health. (HBOT therapy begins on March 8th).
The first step is hyper-baric treatment in Destin Florida. We had a hard time finding a doctor who would even
consider doing the therapy. Our Neurologist at the Mayo Clinic was able to reccomend to us the doctor who will
be performing the 24 days of intense treatment in the HB chamber. Bear trusts this doctor with his life and is
willing to do the course of treatments. From there he will go to Arizona for stem cell extraction and injection in
mid-April.
This will complete the treatment and hopefully help him get his life back.
I have watched my husband go from being a hard working musician to a man who is afraid to leave the house.
His memory is good some days other days he loses track of time and will sometimes go three or four days
without remembering what he had done on those days. This scares him and he becomes more reclusive as time
passes.
He has been suffering from memory loss, early onset dementia, macular tearing in his right eye, tremors on his
left side, insomnia, depression and like every other ex wrestler, the pain left behind from multiple broken bones
and wear and tear from being thrown around the ring. He tries to hide this from people but we see it because we
live with him. It's been very hard to watch.
We have four children at home and its been very hard on them as well to watch his illness overtake him. Our
youngest is Mary who is 6, then Nick who is 11 and our twins Nicole and Aaron who just turned 18.
He maintains a pretty good front for his friends and family but he is not well and needs to get this done to save
his life. This therapy is the best chance we have seen yet for his condition.
Currently there is no cure for CTE so it is our hope that this course of treatment will turn this around and allow
him to regain his memory and motor skills. He is one of the first in the world to get this therapy and it is
groundbreaking work they are doing to help him. We have high hopes this will work and be a new way for
others to get help with concussion issues and TBI's.
His insurance informed us after we had it all set up that they will not pay for experimental treatments and
therapies that do not fall under their guidelines. Bear is on state insurance now because of his pre-existing
injuries from wrestling and has been unable to work for over 2 years because of his medical condition.
So now we are faced with having to raise 100% of this money on our own. We are getting some help from family
but the cost is very high for this therapy, will most likely be well over $30,000.00 when its all said and done.
