Yeshiva Learning in Israel
Donation protected
Hello,
My name is Andrew. I have been accepted into Yeshivat Lev HaTorah in Ramat Beit Shemesh, Israel. I will be studying in Israel for 10 months and then joining the Israel Defense Forces as a "Lone Soldier". Please help me with a financial donation. Any amount is appreciated!First, let me tell you about myself:
My family completed an Orthodox conversion to Judaism through Congregation Shaare Tefilla in Dallas, when I was six years old. I attended Akiba Academy of Dallas, an Modern Orthodox Jewish school, from kindergarten through eighth grade. It was there that I learned Jewish pride and the importance of continuing my Jewish education throughout life. My parents incurred significant debt to keep both my sister and I in a Jewish school. Unfortunately, I had to attend public school in the ninth grade as my parents could no longer financially sustain my Jewish day school tuition.
We moved to Plano, a more affordable city, and became members of Chabad of Plano. My older sister introduced me to NCSY, and my Chabad rabbi introduced me to CTeen, two Jewish youth-groups. I also founded and served as president of the Jewish Student Union chapter at my high school. These activities helped to maintain my connection to Judaism.
I plan to make a career out of serving in the Israel Defense Forces. I believe it is my duty as a Jew to protect the people of Israel in our Jewish homeland. Before entering service, I feel a spiritual desire to first immerse myself in Torah study by spending a year in yeshiva to help strengthen my Jewish identity and guide me during my service and for my future. I know some Hebrew already, but learning in Israel will advance my Hebrew skills so I can become a more fluent speaker before joining the army.
As I am maturing, I am realizing my journey with Judaism is of paramount importance to me. Judaism places Hashem as the central focus of every decision. I would forever regret not taking this opportunity to attend yeshiva to learn about myself and further develop my relationship with Hashem.
Please consider donating. I will be the first in my family to attend yeshiva, move to Israel, and serve in the IDF. This is an opportunity to perform a mitzvah for someone who is in great financial need.
Thank you so much! Please consider sharing this campaign as much as possible.
