Nearly two weeks ago, my ex-husband my kids’ dad, was in a terrible bonfire accident and suffered severe third-degree burns over 25% of his body. He has been in the ICU at Loyola in Chicago for over a week and recently underwent skin graft surgery.

He still has a long road ahead to heal, and once he’s released, he’ll need to travel back and forth to Chicago for follow up appointments. He will be unable to work for at least a month or two while recovering.
