Meghan is fighting not one, but multiple kinds of Stage 3 breast cancer—including one of the rarest and most aggressive types out there. She’s juggling chemo, work, and volleyball (yes, really), and doing it all with her signature side-eye and strength. Now, she needs our help.

Because of how quickly Inflammatory Breast Cancer can move, her doctors jumped into action right away. She began a tough chemo regimen known affectionately (and ominously) as “The Red Devil.” Lucky her.

We braced ourselves for the worst. But true to form, Meghan had other plans. Whether it’s updated treatment protocols, a stellar care team, or pure Meghan Magic, she’s handling it exactly like the badass we've already declared her to be. Despite spending a good chunk of her week actively fighting cancer, she actually feels really strong.

She recently finished phase one of chemo and is now deep into phase two. She’s working when she can, but her schedule revolves around weekly infusions, recovery days, and what we’ll politely call “do-not-disturb-I’m-toxic” time. It doesn’t leave much space for a full-time gig.

The next big step is surgery. A double mastectomy will be needed - remember, multiple types of Stage 3 cancer; it's all gotta go! We’re all hoping the tumors respond well enough for that to happen this fall. No one’s pretending it’s going to be fun, but it will be a huge milestone in her care.

And somehow, even with everything going on, Meghan still plays volleyball. That might seem like a small thing, but for her it’s everything. She’s still making it to games, subbing out when she needs to, and staying connected to the community that fills her cup. Her friends are even hosting a volleyball fundraiser tournament this September in her honor. Meghan’s hoping to play—on a shared position, with lots of water breaks and possibly a throne on the sidelines, but still, she’ll be there.

That’s just who she is. She keeps showing up, even when it’s hard. And on her non-treatment days, she’s feeling good—like actually good. Strong. Normal. And she wants to be treated that way. She doesn’t want pity. She wants connection. She wants your stories, your sarcasm, your belief that she’s going to beat this thing and be back to full-strength trash talk in no time.

She’s doing everything she can—working when she’s able, saving aggressively into her HSA, showing up for every appointment. But cancer is expensive. The bills are growing. The paychecks aren’t. Even with good insurance, there are plenty of uncovered costs. Many of you have asked how to help. This is how.

This past week, Meghan and those closest to her experienced an unexpected and deeply personal loss. Forrest’s father passed away unexpectedly. His family has been a tremendous source of love and support throughout Meghan’s treatment, and his passing has been felt by everyone who knew him. Meghan postponed a major medical appointment to be present with family in the days that followed; a decision that speaks to her heart, her loyalty, and the kind of community she’s surrounded by.

Despite all of it, she’s in good spirits. Her side-eye game remains strong. She’s focused on the present. She’s working. She’s playing. She’s living. And she’s setting her sights on dancing at her friend’s wedding next February—just about a year after her diagnosis. What a way to celebrate.
