This weekend our world turned upside down. On Saturday, we discovered that our sweet Pug, Sadie, has a broken lower jaw. Our hearts are broken.

After rushing her to the vet, we learned she needs urgent surgery to repair her jaw so she can eat, heal, and live a pain-free life. The estimated cost of surgery is $4,500, and we’ve already paid $780 out of pocket for X-rays and pain medication just to keep her comfortable.

Like most families, we weren’t prepared for such a sudden and overwhelming medical expense—but she’s family. She’s the one who greets us every day with a wagging tail, snorts when she’s excited, and curls up beside us like she belongs nowhere else in the world. Giving up on her is not an option.
