Hi everyone, John Gilsenan here. Would you believe I am doing the Dublin Marathon this coming Sunday!

I am running (and ok part walking) for the YENGEMA SECONDARY SCHOOL in SIERRA LEONE. 

Why? A great friend to many of us Fr John Flavin CSSp is supporting and seeking funds for the YENGEMA SECONDARY SCHOOL in SIERRA LEONE. He has been associated with this school for many years and worked there for five years from 1965 to 1970 with other Spiritan priests and Irish expatriate lay staff. There is a current fundraising programme underway including  a major fundraising  concert and so I am doing the Dublin Marathon for this very worthy cause.

According to Fr Flavin, 'YSS suffered terribly during the civil war and Ebola crises. The funds raised will be ring-fenced for significant school development. '
