Due to Covid-19 our family has set up this GoFundMe so that people make donations in support of Yen’s memorial, in lieu of the traditional Cambodian ceremony at the temple.

Yen Moeung, 70, of Fresno,CA passed away March 22nd , 2020. She was born in Takeo Province in Cambodia on January 6th 1950.

She married the late Phy Nop in 1966, and they lived together in Fresno, Seattle and Stockton for twenty years 27 years before she relocated to Fresno, CA. After 7 years Yen moved to Tacoma, Washington with her kids. Yen is survived by her ten living children: Sinath, Soben, Sinuon, Sam, Channa, Sopeck, Russmey, Chendar, Kunthear and Kunthaphydou. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and six grand-dogs and one great grand-dog. Yen was predeceased by her loving husband on December 7, 1992.

Yen had a love of travel, food, nature and everything purple. She adored flamingos and penguins and animals, she was also multilingual and loved to sew and crochet. Her favorite pastime was gardening and playing with her grandkids. She passed her appreciations of travel and nature to all her children. 

In April of 2018 she fulfilled a lifelong dream to go back to Cambodia and visit her family. It was the first and last time she would be able to visit in the nearly 40 years after fleeing during the Khmer Rouge. 

Yen was strong, kind and generous, she was well known for her selflessness, ability to forgive and unconditional love. She was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind nothing but love and beautiful memories.  

Due to COVID-19 the viewing and cremation ceremony was held privately.

Burial occured on 3.30.2020.

Any donations made after 3/30/2020 will be used towards a headstone.
