I was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver in April on my 59th birthday. I found out that I had non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. I was struggling to breathe, and my stomach was swollen. I have had to go every 2-3 weeks to have fluid drained from my body. Each time, they have had to take 9-12 liters from me.
I worked as long as I could. I just don’t have the energy or muscle mass anymore. I drive a farm store delivery truck and have to lift feed and shavings. I have been out of work for almost a month now, and the hospital bills are starting to come in. I would greatly appreciate any help that anyone can give.
I am currently meeting with the liver transplant team and am hopeful that I will soon have a new liver.
