My journey to acquiring a p1 visa

Hello friends, fans and supporters, my name is Steve "The Dragon" Claggett, I am a Canadian professional boxer from Calgary in pursuit of a dream and on a mission to achieve. I am a 2x Canadian welterweight champion and the former WBC (Youth) intercontinental light welterweight champion. On September 18, 2015 I fought my way to victory, winning my second Canadian title, improving my professional record to 23-3-1 (16KO's) and I have now found myself ranked at #12 in the world by the NABO. A top 20 world ranking means new doors and opportunities have appeared, and great things are on the horizon for my team, my supporters, my fans and myself. I am starting this campaign seeking assistance in purchasing a p1 (professional athlete) visa in order to get my shot at big fights in the United States. A professional athlete visa is a licence to legally perform and make a living through sporting events in other countries in the world. Being that boxing is my full time career and path that I have dedicated my life to, I have only this source of income and have found myself in a tricky spot due to the lack of consistent fights in the country that I am proudly a citizen of. This year I was denied international fights an uncountable amount of times during negotiations solely because I do not own a p1 visa, and one time at a U.S. Customs office in the Vancouver airport for the exact same reason, less than one week before what would have been the biggest fight (and victory) of my life. These occurances have caused me to lose hours, days and years of my hard work, and leaves me hanging both mentally and financially when I have just put in a full 8-10 week training camp of my life (pushing aside other ways of income) only to find out that I will be denied the ability to fight at the last minute, even though many times the promoter has assured me that it will all go as planned. My team and I have lost many contracts and I have been shut down constantly due to the fact that I do not have the proper paperwork, great opportunities have been lost again and again over the years. I have had many matchmakers and promoters offer me cash under the table and told me to cross the boarder by simply withholding information about my real intentions in the country, but I prefer to be honest, I want to achieve my goals the right way, the official way, and the legal way. These events have led me to the conclusion that if I want to continue to progress, a p1 is something that I must have. My sport is a very difficult and trying one, with many uncertainties and hardships, but I know that if I can get my opportunity I will become one of the greatest Canadian boxers of all time. Acquiring a p1 visa will allow me to fight on the big stage, giving me my chance to pursue my dreams since I was 13 years old and show the world what I have been working on for more than half of my life. Thank you all for taking the time to read this and for the support of the pursuit of my dreams, I appreciate all donations and consideration - I promise, I will never stop working until I get where I am going, remember it here and now, Steve Claggett will be the next Canadian world champion !
