Collette Hudyma and Archie Legare have decided to start a go fund me to help someone we all love. We were all saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Derek Koshman. To know him was to love him. He was a standup son, brother, friend, and more importantly a very proud father beaming with joy every time he watched his son light up a room with his care-free spirit. Cobain and his father Derek shared countless moments of laughter, from silly little jokes to impromptu dance-offs in the living room, where music and laughter filled the air. Derek’s Day’s away from work was for sharing adventures with Cobain, pitching tents under starlit skies, roasting marshmallows by the fire and telling stories that would echo in their hearts forever. In every twirl, every burst of laughter and every quiet night in the wilderness he saw the boy he loved growing up to be the boy he was proud to call his son.

His mom Melanie has been through more than anyone should have to endure having now lost two sons. A very strong mom but nothing could have prepared her for the day in October of 2008, when her son Dylan went missing. She has sacrificed countless hours, money, heartbreak after heartbreak and even endured whispers of doubt yet she still has never stopped to find answers about her missing son. This go fund is to help Melanie with the costs that take place through these unfortunate times as well as help for Derek’s son Cobain and his future needs. No little boy should have to endure losing his dad at such a young age.

We are asking for any help to show our love for this family in their time of need. We all know times can be tough so if you are unable to help that’s ok. A prayer for the family and a simple share of this post can go a long way as well.
