Yeet Gus’s Kidney

If you only know me a little, you likely know at least three things: nothing makes me more uncomfortable than asking for help, broadcasting my life on social media absolutely disgusts me, and my dog is the reason I wake up every morning. So here are all three of those things in one GoFundMe post.

I’m reaching out because Gus has a large cancerous mass on his left kidney that is pushing his intestines completely to the right side of his body. Fortunately, as far as they can see, it’s “just” his kidney and it hasn’t spread anywhere else. He has a safe opportunity to yeet the whole kidney out but I don’t have the funds to go through with it. We need your help!

I’ve spent every waking moment of the last 11 years making sure he is safe, strong, fit, well-behaved, clean, healthy, and happy. Even in my absence, he is set up only with the best love and care. Giving up on him now isn’t in my plan.

Gus has seen almost all 50 states, has lived in three of them, has flown on more planes than most people, survived car accidents that humans shouldn’t have, met celebrities, graduated college with me twice, became the unofficial mascot to dozens of random groups and organizations, fathered 8 puppies, has survived other surgeries, miscellaneous ailments and dogfights with dogs 3x his size. The most impactful thing on his never ending list is him single handedly getting me through every year of my twenties. I wouldn’t be typing this if it weren’t for him. He has been nothing shy of a savior and it’s my turn to save him. His list can’t end here, it’s not his time.
