Getting the Volk's back on the road
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
My name is Chris Parker. I am starting this GoFundMe for an amazing family, Chris and Theresa Volk along with their two children, Ryan (four years old) and Joshua (two years old). We first met the Volk's when Chris became head coach of his oldest son's soccer team along with my oldest son. Not only did me and my now fiancee (Hillary VanSciver) hit it off immediately with Chris and Theresa, but our children did as well.
Joshua was diagnosed at eight months old with infantile spasms. Since being diagnosed, Joshua has developed Tonic Clonic Seizures and is susceptible to devoloping various kinds of seizures his entire life. Joshua is currently on two types of medication that have his spasms under control but the Tonic Clonic Seizures remain active numerous times on a daily basis. Through all of this, Joshua remains a strong, happy two year old little boy. Chris and Theresa have done more than there part in bringing attention to Epilepsy awareness through various charitable events as well as remaining very active through social media. They would like nothing more than to help bring a cure to Epilepsy.
I wish that would be the end of the reason I am asking for your help today but they now have another hurdle to overcome. Last week Chris's recently built truck was stolen and although it was recovered, the transmission now needs to be replaced or rebuilt and the motor needs work from being overheated. To make matters worse, no more than a couple days later the family cars motor seized and needs to be replaced.
It is imperative that they have two vehicles as Chris works all week while Theresa stays home with Joshua and takes him to his various medical appointments. They also photograph weddings on the weekends.
If it were not for witnessing Josh having a seizure we may not have known about his epilepsy. Chris and Theresa care more to build surrounding relationships and help others than to bring attention to their situation for any type of sympathy. They also played a huge role in my recent suprise engagment without hesitation. This is one of the strongest, kindest most humble families I have ever met and through all this have kept their faith and hospitality. I am honered to call them my friends and will do everthing I can to get them back on the road.
I realize the timing is not ideal with the holidays right around the corner but anything you can donate will help. I have set the goal to $2500.00 This will be enough for all parts and labor in replacing the family car motor, repairing the truck motor and rebuilding the truck transmission. If we reach this goal, every penny over the limit will be donated to the Epilepsy Foundation of NJ . I want to thank everyone in advance even if you do not have the means to donate for atleast taking the time to read this. Please share.
